What we collect

• Account details: your email address, password (stored encrypted by our login provider, never visible to us), username, and account type (reader or creator).
• Your date of birth — see “Why we ask for your birthday” below.
• Things you choose to add: your profile picture, series, chapters and images you upload, comments, posts, channels, read lists, ratings, likes, subscriptions and follows.
• Reports you file, and moderation decisions about them.
• Basic usage counts: when a series page is opened we add one to its view count. We do not store who viewed it.

Why we ask for your birthday

We ask for your date of birth when you sign up for two reasons only: to make sure you are at least 13, and to decide whether you can open series marked Mature (18+).

Your date of birth is private. It is never shown on your profile or to other users, it is not shared with anyone, and it is only used for these age checks. Once saved it cannot be changed from the app, so age checks cannot be bypassed. It is deleted when you delete your account.

What other people can see

• Public: your username, profile picture, account type (e.g. Creator), your published series, public read lists, comments, posts, and follower/following counts.
• Private: your email address, date of birth, drafts, private read lists, private channels (only their members), your votes and likes (only totals are shown), and your reports.

How we use your information

• To run your account and show your content and activity on the platform.
• To check your age for signup and Mature (18+) series.
• To keep the community safe: reviewing reports and removing content that breaks our Terms of Service.
• We do not sell your information. The website shows ads from Google (see “Advertising and cookies” below); we do not give advertisers your email address, date of birth or other account details.

Where your information is stored

UBIJANG uses Supabase to store accounts, data and uploaded images, and Vercel to host the website. They process data for us under their own security and privacy commitments. On your phone, the app keeps you logged in by saving your session on your device.

Advertising and cookies

The UBIJANG website shows ads through Google AdSense. This is how reading stays free.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on those visits.

You can turn off personalised ads in Google’s Ads Settings (https://adssettings.google.com), or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised ads at https://www.aboutads.info. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown.

Your choices

• Edit your username and profile picture at any time in Edit profile.
• Make read lists private, or delete anything you created.
• Delete your account from Edit profile: this permanently removes your account, your date of birth, and the content you created, including uploaded images.
• Ask us what information we hold about you, or to correct it, by emailing support@your-domain.example.

Children

UBIJANG is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
